The lower Guadalupe is loaded with Guadalupe bass, largemouth, and sunfish once you get below the trout water. Wade or float the limestone runs. Poppers off the banks, streamers through the deeper slots.
Spring-fed and crystal clear year-round, the San Marcos is a mixed-bag river with Guadalupe bass as the main target. Rio Grande cichlids, largemouth, and sunfish fill out the day. Good water for beginners and experienced anglers alike.
The lower Colorado through Austin and east toward Bastrop holds some of the best largemouth and Guadalupe bass fishing in Central Texas. Wade accessible stretches or float between put-ins. Big fish in urban water that most anglers overlook.
Updated every morning before the first cast. If flows change your trip, we call you first and re-route to fishable water. Nobody pays to stare at chocolate milk.

I'm Garrett Etter, a San Antonio native who grew up with dirt under his boots long before he ever had a fly rod in his hand. My dad was the one who started it all. He hauled me out to the ranch as a kid and taught me how to manage animals, how to read the land, and how to be an ethical hunter. Those days shaped everything about how I approach the outdoors.
When I hit my senior year of high school something shifted. Fishing took over, and it hasn't let go since. The past two years I've been deep into fly fishing the Texas Hill Country — wading these rivers every chance I get, learning the hatches, dialing in the patterns. I'm still fired up about it every single day, and that's exactly why I started guiding. It gives me an outlet to do two things I love: fish hard and teach. Watching someone land their first fish on a fly rod is something I never get tired of.
That's the whole "Get'er Done" thing. It's not a slogan, it's just how the day goes.
Absolutely — beginners are about half our trips. We start with 20 minutes of casting on grass or calm water, and most folks are catching fish before lunch. The San Marcos wade trip is the best first-timer water in the state.
A Texas fishing license (buy it on your phone at the TPWD site), sunscreen, sunglasses (polarized if you have them), and shoes that can get wet. We handle everything else: rods, flies, leaders, drinks, and lunch on full days.
There's no bad month, just different fish. December–March is prime time for trout on the Guadalupe tailwater. April–October is peak bass season on the lower Guadalupe, San Marcos, and Colorado. Poppers in the morning, streamers all day. The San Marcos fishes well year-round thanks to its constant spring temperature.
